she didn't even know that God loved her.
Jessica and I were at a strip-mall near our house today. I had brought my guitar and we picked a spot and began to play, sing and worship God. I played for a total of about an hour and a quarter. it was a good time.

there were two kids; one was probably nine and her brother seven_ they came kind of sneaking up to us. they wanted to give us a dollar but they weren't sure if it was ok to do that. I signalled to them that they could give it to Jessica.
after receiving it Jessica asked them if they knew God loved them. they said "no". she proceeded to talk to them about Jesus.
as I sat here at my computer, hours later, it came back to me, and I thought: "Lord, they had zero idea... in nine years on this earth, no one had ever informed them of your love for them". It was a foreign thought to them.
mostly we have dealt with african american kids who, though often don't have the best homes, have heard about Jesus and the love of God. it's fairly normal to them.
it was a sad reality check to me to remember that many, many people really have no idea that God loves them and that Jesus and all of salvation is as close as your breath.
As Christians we need to grow and learn more about God, but then we need to go out and share this good news with others. while we sit so blessed, they have no idea of all that is available in Jesus. Help us Lord.
